"Through Maglianero we’re creating an experience with both local prominence and global relevance. In our hometown of Burlington, Vermont, USA, we are developing, testing, and sharing the ideas that serve the continuum of needs of the Modern Mobility Movement:
Farm-direct, hand-crafted coffees-the fuel for the ride.
A cafĂ©/collaborative space/commuter hub-the center of community interaction, education, and creativity.
A responsibly-sourced, durably crafted and built, commuter-centric cycling apparel brand-stylish, functional, year round protection from the elements."

Perfect Day for a Geo-Birdhouse

Geo Birdhouse designed by Kelly Lamb
Happy Spring! We have two of these lovely birdhouses in stock - 8x8x8 inches, ceramic.  Inspired by the geodesic dome popularized by architect Buckminster Fuller.  Its rounded shape makes an ideal nesting place for wrens, finches, swallows, warblers and other small birds.  An easy access door allows for simple cleaning so you can freshen the house at the start of each season.  A wonderful mother's day gift!

Bulls, Books and Spring

Several references to bulls, Spain and Pamplona in the last few days, or perhaps I'm just catching them because of Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises is on the nightstand. Anyone who's visited Weller knows we have a penchant for a good graphic children's book of a certain era (Paul Rand, Bruno Munari etc).  But one that rings distinctly in my head (though we don't carry it in the shop as yet) is The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf with drawings by Robert Lawson originally published in 1936.  I saw a stencil of Ferdinand recently... and must say that it's nice to see him pop up again after so many years...

While we may not have Ferdinand in stock, we do have a monograph, The Design Legacy of George Salter - Classic Book Jackets by Thomas S. Hansen which you might enjoy...
